Aksarben Locks
Last Friday I went for a long ride along the Papio and Keystone trails. I often do this on Friday afternoons when the weather is nice. Now, near the end of this ride I crossed a bridge in Aksarben. What I noticed was a peculiar number of locks. Not bike locks in particular, but just locks. Many of them had writing on them, but none of it made sense. If you know something about this mystery please do share. In the meantime, I just might add a lock next time I ride past this.

Dropping Temperatures
This morning was cold. Period. At least it wasn't windy :) This was what I saw when I arrived at work. When I left home it said 10 degrees!
Here is what I saw on my ride to work. Notice the subtle details. I was not the only biker! There are other tracks on this bridge.

Fall Colors
This isn't from today or yesterday, but it is from this week. It's only a matter of days until most of the leaves will be off the trees and on the ground. Well, most of them are already so enjoy a quick look at what I get to see on my rides this week.
Taken on Nov. 6th on the way home.

First Hard Frost
So, I don't know that this blog will get a new picture every day, but it might. If it doesn't that's life and if it gets multiple then you are lucky. I'm thinking that I will have a little more exuberance in the beginning which will eventually taper down.
This morning was cold. Well, I moved here from Portland, OR so maybe I'm just not acclimated yet. The sun is wonderful, but I can tell that when the wind combines with the cold temperatures no amount of sunshine is going to warm me up.
This picture was taken at sunrise as I layered on warm clothing and mentally prepared for my first below freezing commute to work in Nebraska. I realized today that it will get much worse before it gets better. And, that means I need to find some mental toughness quickly.

The First Post
I'm starting this as a simple blog to share picture. I ride commute to work by bike in Omaha, NE. Yes...In Omaha....and I enjoy it. I am fortunate to live and work near two trails and get to spend most of my 4 mile commute off the street. Sometimes, I take the long way home and see things about this place that I think are beautiful. I intend to share those things periodically.
Today's Picture was take on the long ride home near where the Keystone and Big Papio trails converge.
